Just a short note. I kind of forgot I had a blog for this, and I haven't posted since November. I', more active on the forum for the engine I use, though.
I add little bits and pieces, trying stuff, removing stuff that isn't needed, but it never amounts to much in the long run. I'm a little more used to the coding stucture now but nowhere near good enough to make this the game I originally envisioned. Yet.
Apologies to anyone watching. I'll try to be more active, but I'm working on a collaboration right now as well.

A little bit late, but however...
Well, there was an error up until lately that I didn't catch until I decided to test ALL functions.
It caused the game to crash on save.
'Twas a Python error on my part, and it's fixed now. Adding little bits and pieces when I can.
I've been helping someone develop their own game as well. She's got a pretty interesting concept going and I just hope I can capture the feel properly.

It took this long...
It was a lot more complicated (and yet at the same time, obvious) to get the Enemy Encounter Framework working. Now, I suspect that unless I get distracted enough to just tweak the UI again, coding will speed up slightly.

Getting somewhere at last!
I've finally gotten somewhere. I've got a basic design template for the town exploration and a second enemy type set up and ready to go.
I wanted this out today, but alas. I had porblems with script and typos. Seemingly, I'm having blo noprems now. -_^

I thought I wouldn't make stupid mistakes with my code anymore. But this isn't the case, and I think I may have to rewrite pieces of already working but clunky code before the rest will play nicely with it...

Another Lengthy Hiatus
It's been quite some time (again) and I apologise (again), but I've had a couple of weeks where my motivation has sunk into the toilet. But now that I've started on this again, I'm remembering why I wanted to make this in the first place. It seems less like work now, and more like the hobby it was when I began. Anyway:
Notes on V0.94a which I'll release when I'm happy with it:
*: Three, if you don't count Day 0.
**: Attack, Defend and Escape only. hope to have Spells & Skills in later builds.
***: I got lazy for ease of introductions.
****: I've already caught and fixed one, but there may be more.
*****: Bugfixing is something I'm good at.
******: Again, laziness. I'll iron these out and make it happen as little as possible.
What I want back from V0.94a:
*: I don't wan trash comments like "It's crap, scrap it now!" If you have to tell me this, tell me also how to make it better. Leave your sarcasm and shite comments at the door.
**: I welcome all suggestions, but will not entertain any requests for hentai. I have an agreement with the artist on this. Though he seems to have disappeared...
Things to remember:
*: This is quite a possibility. But I plan to keep plugging through as much as can the way I'm going right now.
**: As my birthday is coming up, I want to have no worries at all.

A Lengthy Hiatus
Sorry it's been so long since my last post, I've had some things happen to me that demanded a lot of attention and stress. Anyway, I'm back on this now and I have some progress to report.
Thanks entirely to a user called Alex over at lemmasoft.renai.us/forums, I've finally cracked the random NPC encounter. As I said once I got the code snippet (which was actually a lot less complicated than I made it out to be.... >.<) development will speed up significantly.
I fully intend to get back onto this as soon as I can. This bloody sudden rise in temperature (though it more resembles Summer now) kinda feels like I have a fever. Thankfully I don't, but meh.
Anyway, I'm back on this now and plan to have more updates to report. I'm leaving the image search for later and instead pure coding will be my focus for now.

Finally!
Finally, finally got the groundwork laid for the three-night, four-morning demo release I'd planned so long ago. I owe my motivation to continue to Cryoshell's songs. In particular "Come To My Heaven".
Now the arduous task begins of bughunts and making sure the random encounter system works the way it's supposed to. I was having flag problems a while back, and eventually (with help) got it sorted. I could release the demo now, but I'm just not happy with how it is. I need it semisolid before I do that.
Inevitably, someone will find something I didn't. I welcome those reports when they do come in.

Not dead yet
This is not dead yet, I've had some things to work out, though. Most recently I've had a bout of mental exhaustion and a fair few minor concerns.
What I've been doing with this over the last while has been as ideas come to me, but specifically:

- Using a better model for random NPC encounter, possible I will expand this for monsters
- Wondering how the hell I can work in an exploration mode instead of a "click to go there" interface
- Sifting through almost countless free music tracks that I can use
- Looking for more stock art while I wait
- Training for my next grade
